root blower

Root Blower merupakan jenis blower positive displacement yang memiliki desain seperti pompa Rotary Lobe.  Berbeda dengan pompa yang pada umumnya digunakan untuk mentransfer fluida cair, Root Blower digunakan untuk mentransfer fluida gas (udara). Pada umumnya desain Root Blower memiliki dua buah Lobe (impeller) berbentuk angka delapan. Pada Root Blower terdapat Gearbox yang berfungsi untuk menggerakkan Rotor (Driver/Driven) sehingga kedua Lobe/Impeller tidak saling bersentuhan.
Udara dari luar masuk melalui sisi hisap dan ditekan di dalam housing/casing oleh perputaran rotor/impeller menuju ke sisi buang (outlet) sesuai dengan tekanan kerja pada sistem.
Umumnya tekanan maksimum yang dapat dihasilkan oleh Root Blower tidak lebih dari 1 bar.g
Oleh Sebab itu untuk tekanan yang lebih tinggi sebaiknya menggunakan Kompressor Udara (Air Compressor)

Root Blower memiliki dua buah Lobe/Impeller yang menyatu dengan shaft (ROTOR), dan salah satu shaft dihubungkan oleh coupling dan electric motor (Driver/Penggerak), sementara pada bagian sisi belakang casing terdapat gear box yang berisi timing gear yang berfungsi sebagai penerus rotasi shaft penggerak (Driver) kepada shaft yang ingin digerakkan (driven shaft) sehingga kedua Lobe/Impeller dapat bergerak tanpa saling bersentuhan (indirect contact). Mekanisme perputaran Lobe/Impeller dengan kecepatan yang relatif tinggi ini menciptakan kondisi vacuum pada sisi hisap, sehingga udara dari luar tertarik masuk ke bagian sisi masuk blower dan kemudian terdorong oleh lobe/impeller menuju sisi buang (outlet). Siklus ini terjadi secara kontinyu.

Taiko blowers are specially designed according to customer requirements. So it can be used in many applications, from ordinary air to other gases. Taiko blowers have two types of impeller designs, namely Twin-Lobe and also Three-Lobe impellers. Both types of impeller can be used according to certain applications to get maximum results.
This blower can be used in several applications such as Waste Treatment, Shrimp and Fish Ponds, Transfer Powder (pneumatic conveying), etc.

Applications and benefits

 

MAPRO® Rotary Lobe Blowers are used in all those applications where higher flow rates than those of side channel machines and up to 4200 m3 / h, with discharge pressure up to 1000 mbar.

 

The most typical applications are:

 

  • insufflation of air in the oxidation tanks of the
    waste water treatment plants;
  • pneumatic transport;
  • blowing of air into contaminated soils for this purpose to stimulate biodegradation (Biospargimento o Bioventilation)

 

During the operation of the Blowers there are no parts between them in creep. There is therefore no friction between the lobes and between the lobes and stator and, consequently, none is needed lubrication of the chambers in which the conveyance takes place of the gas, which, therefore, remains totally free of oil lubricant.

 

Application and advantages

 

MAPRO® Positive Displacement Blowers are suitable for all those applications requiring considerably higher flow rate than that which can be achieved using side channel blowers and till 4200 m3 /h, and with discharge pressure till 1000 mbar g.

 

The most common fields of application are:

 

  • air injection in the oxidation tanks of the wastewater treatment plants;
  • pneumatic conveying;
  • air injection in saturated soils to promote biodegradation of the contaminants (Biosparging or Bioventing).

 

There is no contact of the rotating parts during operation of the Blowers. There is therefore no friction between the two rotors and between the rotors and the stator and thus no internal lubrication is needed. The gas moving through the machine remains uncontaminated
and completely oil-free.
