Root Blower is a type of positive displacement pump that has a design like a Rotary Lobe pump. Root Blower is also called as PD Blower or Positive Displacement Blower. In contrast to pumps which are generally used to transfer liquid fluids, Root Blowers are used to transfer gas fluids (air). In general, the Root Blower design has two lobes (impellers) in the form of a figure eight. In the Root Blower there is a Gearbox which functions to move the Rotor (Driver/Driven) so that the two Lobes/Impellers do not touch each other.
Air from outside enters through the suction side and is pressed inside the housing/casing by the rotation of the rotor/impeller towards the exhaust side (outlet) according to the working pressure of the system.
Generally the maximum pressure that can be generated by a Root Blower is not more than 1 bar.g
Therefore, for higher pressures, you should use an Air Compressor (Air Compressor).
